About Robert Goleman

Robert’s Artistic Journey

Early Beginnings and Magic

Robert’s lifelong dedication to music, acting, and magic began at age seven with a simple magic kit. From those first tricks performed for family and friends, his talent flourished into acclaimed illusion shows such as “An Evening with the Fabulous Blendos” and “There is Magic in the Air, with the Fabulous Blendos,” which drew large and enthusiastic audiences.

Community Recognition and Diverse Talents

On the coast, Robert has a reputation not just for his musical and magical performances, but also for his entrepreneurial ventures, including the nursery “Hortus Botanicus”, specializing in rare and exotic plants, and “Bolliver’s Fine Foods and Confections”, known for its artisan, handcrafted chocolates, pastries, and gourmet treats.

Performance Credits

Robert’s stage career features appearances with the Mendocino Music Festival, Symphony of the Redwoods, Opera Fresca, The Lamplighters, and The Gloriana Opera Company. He has portrayed memorable characters such as Charlie Brown and Schroeder in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” Koko in “The Mikado,” Samuel in “The Pirates of Penzance,” The Padre in “Man of La Mancha,” B. F. Pinkerton in “Madama Butterfly,” Gabriel Von Eisenstein in “Die Fledermaus,” Freddie Einsford Hill in “My Fair Lady,” Albert Peterson in “Bye, Bye Birdie,” The Baker in “Into the Woods,” Count Carl Magnus Malcolm in “A Little Night Music,” Frank in “Showboat” (which incorporated magic), Mr. Snow in “Carousel,” Martin in “The Tender Land,” and a highly praised performance as Albin/Zaza in “La Cage aux Folles” (“The Birdcage”).

Magical Productions

Robert’s magical repertoire includes “Snow White, the Musical,” a unique production that combined original music, puppetry, and grand illusions; “An Evening with the Fabulous Blendos” and “There is Magic in the Air, with the Fabulous Blendos”; “Baroque to Broadway,” a concert featuring magical acts; “The Music and Magic of Robert Goleman - Close-up and Personal”; and Magical Dinners, which offered guests six “Over the Top” gourmet courses accompanied by music, magic, laughter, and extraordinary desserts.

Booking Credits

Beyond these credits, Robert Goleman is taking his new show, The Joy of Astonishment, on the road, building on a strong run of recent appearances that continues to deepen his reputation as a compelling live performer. With recent engagements, along with upcoming dates, including San Francisco, the greater Bay area and Oregon, Robert is steadily extending the reach of the show and bringing his distinctive talents and sense of wonder to new audiences.

Just as significant as the growing list of engagements is the response they have inspired: every venue that has presented Robert so far has invited him back for future appearances. That kind of enthusiasm speaks not only to the strength of the material, but to the genuine connection he creates with audiences—one that lingers well beyond the performance itself.

Especially striking is that his momentum has been built largely without a social media presence, relying instead on the live experience, word of mouth, and presenter support. Under those conditions, each return engagement and new booking becomes an even clearer measure of the show’s impact, and the lasting connection Robert creates with his audiences.

For presenters, producers, and venues looking to offer audiences something distinctive, engaging, and memorable, this is an excellent moment to bring Robert Goleman and The Joy of Astonishment to your stage. While the absence of a social media presence can make visibility more challenging, it has only strengthened his determination to build the show the most meaningful way possible: through the power of the performance itself and the people who respond to it. For venues seeking original, memorable work that leaves audiences delighted and talking, The Joy of Astonishment is ready for the road.
